Welcome to OpenData Altius. By accessing our APIs and services, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

OpenData Altius provides free access to Swiss open data through RESTful APIs. We offer:

• Swissmedic pharmaceutical data (products, medications, substances)
• Healthcare information and statistics
• Future APIs for agriculture, demographics, economics, etc.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that all information provided is accurate.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your API token
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Free API Access

4.1 Service Level

Our APIs are provided free of charge with the following limits:

• 1,000 requests per hour per user
• Read-only access (GET requests)
• Standard support via email

4.2 Fair Use Policy

You agree to use our APIs reasonably and not to:

• Abuse or overload our systems
• Circumvent rate limits
• Use multiple accounts to exceed limits
• Resell or redistribute our data commercially without permission

• Scrape data using automated tools beyond API limits

• Use data to harm individuals or organizations

7.1 No Warranty

Our APIs are provided 'AS IS' without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenData Altius and Altius Group shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service, abuse our systems, or engage in illegal activities.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Significant changes will be notified via email 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lausanne, Switzerland.
